Ulyptus

Desert province centered around a large and fertile river delta. The population is highly concentrated around the fertile banks of the river.

Territories of upper and middle Ulyptus first unified as the Kingdom of Ulyptus under the yuan-ti leader Seleses I, who took the title Pharaoh and founded a dynasty.

At the height of Cyresian power, Ulyptus was subjugated and forced to become a Satrapy of the Cyresian Empire. Daily governance fell to the appointed satrap, and the title of Pharaoh was assumed by the Cyresian King of Kings.

When Lysander the Great defeated the Cyresians, Ulyptus successfully rebelled against the satrap and enjoyed independence for a short time before Lysander’s armies arrived to subjugate Ulyptus once again. Lysander also proclaimed himself Pharaoh and commanded the construction of the city of Lysandria.

After Lysander’s death, his empire fragmented into the Three Shadow Kingdoms. Arsinoe, one of his former generals, held control of Ulyptus at the conclusion of the civil wars and named herself Pharaoh. Her dynasty ruled the Kingdom of Ulyptus until its recent annexation into the Remian Republic.
